ProtocolError - Unauthorized 401 Indicates that the client control had a problem trying to download the file from CfxTemp. To test this, do a View Source in the page, look for the Chart FX <OBJECT> tag and loot at the value of the DataPath property. Copy-Paste this value into your browser's address bare, precede it by your server. For example if DataPath was"/ChartFX62/Temp/aaaa.chw", in the address bar you put : http://yoursite/ChartFX62/Temp/aaaa.chw You should get a more detailed error from your browser. -- Francisco Padron www.chartfx.com Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Software FX Posted March 10, 2006 Report Share Posted March 10, 2006 You are having an issue with IIS security. Are you using Windows 2003 ? How old is your installer (date) ? Normally the installer will configure IIS so that you don't get this error, however you can also do this manually by going into the IIS console and adding CHW to your MIME map. User (Legacy) Posted March 11, 2006 Author Report Share Posted March 11, 2006 Thanks BUT As you said we had a mime type problem that caused that the file was not fetched form the server http://machine/chartfx62/temp/CFT0311_0634340E618.chw now when I directly writes the URL the file is fetched BUT i still get the problem when I select .Net format in the application Failed to download Chart protocoll error - Unauthorized 401 The test machine where it works is an upgrade to Windows Server 2003 The production with problems is a new Windows Server 2003 installation I have updated the installation recently .... Software FX Posted March 13, 2006 Report Share Posted March 13, 2006 1) Does this Web Site has anonymous access or are you logging in with some credentials ? 2) What is you .NET Zone Security set to in the client ? 3) When you access /chartfx62/temp/CFT0311_0706472B23F.chw from your browser's address bar from a computer outside your network. Do you get a prompt for user and password ?
