On the chart, click on toolbar to open property dialog, select "Options", change bar gap width to 45, click OK, notice the chart is not immediately updated (it went blank actually), I have to save it and reopen to see the changes take place. When we execute the actions you describe we get the chart to immediately refresh when you hit OK. Please attach a sample VS project that reproduces the problem.
