Forum vs Newsgroup

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever suggested Software FX having a forum on their website?

Being new to Software FX I don't know if this has been previously covered,

but I thought i'd ask the question anyway.

The posts on newsgroups seem to disappear after a while, or when read. With

a forum everything stays online which is a handy resource once established.

There are some very good forum programs around these days, and I'm sure the

people who use the newsgroups would find a forum much more beneficial.

Regards,

Phil

We are about to release a new version of our support site and this will

include a forum.

However when you said "The posts on newsgroups seem to disappear after a

while, or when read".

This is not so, they just disappear from your client, the postings remain in

the server forever. If you are using Outlook Express as a newsgroup reader,

you need to configure it so that it does NOT delete old postings, this can

be done in the "Maintenance" tab under Tools -> Options.
