User (Legacy)
Hi there, We are using ChartFx for .NET Windows Forms version 6.2.1342.0 to deliver charts into a browser window as part of a market research data analysis package. I have a local installation of all the serverside components on my laptop - working quite happily until SP2. What happens now (post SP2) is that when I ask for a graph (inside my IE6 browser), I get some 'spinning cogs' (from our application which is aggregating some data etc) but the cogs spin indefinitely and no graph is produced. Pointing my browser at a different server and running the same app/graph *does* work, so I'm pretty sure there is a server side problem, rather than some odd security thing going on with IE6. I realise that the problem might lie with our server side components, but thought I would check if you have any reported issues of this version of ChartFx being unhappy with SP2, and if so -- any ideas how to fix ? Thanks and sorry for the slight ramble. Pat BTW -- Avoid SP2 for a while, lot's of worms !
Software FX
We have tested Chart FX with Windows XP SP2 and we have found no issues with the component. We did find some issues with the PSS extension. Are you using the PSS extension ? If so, please contact support for an updated version. -- FP Software FX
User (Legacy)
Hi, thanks. No - we're not using the PSS extension. It's odd -- we have two graphics engines (selectable) -- ChartFx is currently not playing but the other one is (but it produced horrible graphs!). This makes us think that it's a ChartFx related thing. Software FX
1) I just realized something from your first posting, you said: " We are using ChartFx for .NET Windows Forms version 6.2.1342.0 to deliver charts into a browser window as part of ..." Did you mean Chart FX Web Forms ? Chart FX Windows Forms is not for Web/Browser based development. Please clarify. 2) Have you tried a simple Web Form application with just one default chart in it ? 3) Is your chart server component producing images or are you using the .NET Client component inside your browser ? -- FP Software FX
