User (Legacy)
Hi, We have a need for business users to maintain charts in different word documents. These charts would be updated on a quarterly basis. My question is what's the best way to get these charts into the MS Word documents? Is copying an existing chart by selecting "Copy to an Office Application" from the chart toolbar and then pasting it in a word document the best way? Please help. Software FX
This way will give you interactive charts inside your word documents but each one of your users will need to have the Chart FX Office Add-in as well as Chart FX dll/ocx. These files are royalty free for redistribution but you will need to install them in their computers. More documentation on this can be found in the Chart FX Office Add-In docs which can be downloaded from our extensions site: www.softwarefx.com/extensions Another way is to simple export the chart as an image (bitmap or metafile). -- FP Software FX
User (Legacy)
We will have to go with interactive charts inside the word docs as the users want the capability to manipulate the data behind the charts (in the word doc). Going with this route, I tried installing the "Chart FX Office Add-in" on a user's machine which gave me the message "Chart FX Client Server needs to be installed prior to the installation of this MS Office Add-On". Does this mean that we need licenses for Chart FX Client Server for all our users before the office add-on can be installed on their machines? Software FX
You are not to run the installer for the Office Add-in in your client's computer. You run it in your computer and then you redistribute it (Cfx4Ole.dll). Like you do with Chart FX. -- FP Software FX
