User (Legacy)
When deploying our application which uses ChartFX Client Server, the toolbar displays low resolution images. (This issue was raised in another post, but remains a problem) Screenshots: Low res: http://www.exclamationsoft.com/temp/cfxcs/low_res.gif High res: http://www.exclamationsoft.com/temp/cfxcs/hi_res.gif This occurs regardless of OS: Windows XP, 2000, NT, 98 when display settings are set to display more than 256 colors. The charts are NOT being imported from any other source, including another OS. Versions deployed are: Cfx4032.ocx 5.0.10.4 SfxBar.dll 1.0.20.0 These two files are placed in the folder: \Program Files\Common Files\Software FX Shared The development environment is Visual C++ 6.0 Tim Hodgson ExclamationSoft
Software FX
I thought this problem was solved. You posted: "Found the problem. If installing via Terminal Services (Remote Desktop Connection), when my application loads in the same session, the low-res toolbar is loaded." Is the problem happening using Terminal Services ? -- FP Software FX, Inc.
User (Legacy)
No, the problem is not happening using Terminal Services. I've replicated the problem on Windows NT 4.0 Server, Windows 2000 Server, Windows XP Pro, Windows 98. All running at more than 256 colors. Software FX
The HiRess toolbar will only show under Windows XP. Do you have a test program that reproduces the problem (when run under Windows XP, it displays the 16 Color toolbar). Note: If you are customizing the toolbar and then saving it into a file, when this file is imported the toolbar will look like it did in the original configuration. For example, if you run your program in Windows 2000, customize the toolbar and save a chart file, later when this file is imported into a Windows XP box, the toolbar will be in 16-color mode. This is by design. -- FP Software FX

Ok, yes, I recall reading a post stating that XP will only display it > Do you have a test program that reproduces the problem (when run under > Windows XP, it displays the 16 Color toolbar). Yes. Not exactly a bare-bones test program, but the behavior is visible in our product: http://www.exclamationsoft.com/ExclamationSoft/download/beta/WebWatchBot.zip > > Note: If you are customizing the toolbar and then saving it into a file, > when this file is imported the toolbar will look like it did in the original > configuration. This > is by design. The behavior does not happen when doing a fresh install. In other words, there are no saved files involved. Furthermore, when you refer to a "saved" file, I'm assuming that you are referring to a meta file, if not, please clarify. > > -- > FP > Software FX > >
Software FX
I run your program and I get the right toolbar Running on a Windows XP box.
