ChartFX in Web application - Client compatibility

User (Legacy)

Recommended Posts

I'm using chartfx lite for ASP.NET in a web .NET application.

I would like to get more charting features (interactivity, graphic

personalization and so on)

If I well understand:

1) I could use CHartFX for .NET 6.2 but it is not compatible with non .NET

clients for all the client-side features (it requires .NET framework on

client side for EASY charting) .

2) I could use CHartFX for Internet 6.2 BUT

- it is now in BETA: do you have a scheduled date for release?

- it has ActiveX OR .NET OR Flash compatible rendering mode, so it could

solve my client-side issues

BUT if I well understand ther is not a .NET development control so i

cannot integrate in an ASPX page and I have to use it in an ASP page

instead, thus changing

completely the already developed modules

Is there a workaround?

Thank you in advance for your support.

If when you say "all client-side features" you refer to having a live object

running inside the browser this statement is correct. With Chart FX for .NET

server component you can produce charts images (PNG, JPEG, SVG, Flash) that

can be displayed in virtually any browser under virtually any platform.

After ChartFX for Internet 6.2 is released, the Client ActiveX control will

be added to ChartFX for .NET so you can render ActiveX charts (non-dot net)

from an ASP.NET server. In other words, the Client ActiveX control included

with Chart FX Internet 6.2 can be used with Chart FX for .NET Server and

viceversa.

If you are participating in the Chart FX Internet 6.2 Beta you can contact

support and ask for instructions for using the ActiveX client with Chart FX

.NET Server.

Thus I could use .NET control on the server side (and inside my ASPX pages)

and set the client rendering properties (HTMLTag) in

order to use ActiceX control on the client side.

Now the question is: when it will be available?

Thank you again.
