User (Legacy) Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Environ: Windows XP Lang: Visual C++ 6.0 SP3 Product: ChartFX Client Server When distributing ChartFX client server, as per the instructions in redist.txt, my application is displaying low resolution images of the toolbar. When I run my application on my development machine, I get the nice high resolution images in the toolbar. The files I am distributing into the \Program Files\Common Files\Software FX Shared folder are: SFXBAR.DLL CFX4032.OCX ChartFX_GUI.hlp Screenshots: Low res: http://www.exclamationsoft.com/temp/cfxcs/low_res.gif High res: http://www.exclamationsoft.com/temp/cfxcs/hi_res.gif Thanks, Tim
Software FX Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 What do you mean by low resolution images ? Can you please attach a screenshot ? What OS is running in your client ? -- FP Software FX, Inc.

Software FX Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Sorry about that, I missed the links at the bottom, I was looking for attachments. Chart FX uses 256 color toolbar images when it detects the OS is Windows XP. Please check the following: 1) The DLL and OCX are the same file version in both your computer and the client's computer. 2) Is the chart being imported (Import method) from a file ? if so, was this file saved in another OS ? 3) Make sure you are running the latest service pack from our support site. -- FP Software FX, Inc.
User (Legacy) Posted January 15, 2004 Author Report Posted January 15, 2004 Found the problem. If installing via Terminal Services (Remote Desktop Connection), when my application loads in the same session, the low-res toolbar is loaded. All test machines involved are Windows XP Pro. Software FX Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 Yes. Terminal Service runs a lo-resolution/color depth. -- FP Software FX, Inc.
User (Legacy) Posted January 21, 2004 Author Report Posted January 21, 2004 Are you sure? I have toolbars for our program, which are over 256 colors being displayed perfectly, but the toolbar for the chart is not. I can provide screen shots if you like.
