User (Legacy)
Hi, Can I force the annotations (ie arrow) to be clipped to the chart area? Currently they spill over the edge of the chart and onto the axis labels (not a good thing)... Perhaps I can modify the annotation extension? Or write my own extension? How would I start doing that? Thanks Paul
Software FX
No the annotation extension does not know the difference between the chart area and the margins. Also, clipping of annotations objects may not be possible in all cases, such as 3D charts. You can clip it yourself by changing its position and size. That's the only thing I can think of. -- FP Software FX, Inc.
User (Legacy)
Hi again, This is no good for me. I looked around on the net for chartfx extensions and couldn't find any. Where can I find the development help/support/examples for creating an extension of my own? Thanks, Paul
User (Legacy)
As a side note, is it just me or is the newsgroup server reporting all the dates as "1979" ??
Software FX
Currently Chart FX extensions are proprietary, they were designed as a way for us to add functionality without affecting the core of the product. There are no plans in the near future of making this API public. -- FP Software FX, Inc.
User (Legacy)
damnit. I guess you can't have your Annotations and Clip it too. I'd like to request a clipping feature as I reckon it would be good. Is there currently any other way of overlaying the chart ontop of a background image WITH the ability to link points to points in the background. I was using series or annotations to vector-draw what I wanted. This has obvious applications in mapping, GIS, and anything that has a plan of some location behind actual data. Software FX
Very clever !!!! I will put this in the list of "wishes" for the next version. I think we may be able to include it in the upcoming .NET version (don't hold me on it though !) -- FP Software FX, Inc.
