How do I find out the version of ChartFX that is on a clients machine?

Hello!

I have tried to use your article on ensuring that a client machine has the

most recent version of ChartFX, but it does not work. Therefore, I now have

to come up with my own method.

How can I find out the version of the ActiveX control on the client machine?

If I can do that, I will be able to point the user to a page where they can

download the control

I tried the process on one of the machines at our offices. Our server has

version 5.5.6.0 and the client had a previous version. I did everything I

was supposed to do, but when I went back to the page which contains the

graphs, the control did not update.

Any ideas? A rapid response would be appreciated as this is quite a big

problem for us

Cheers

Paul

You don't have to know the version of ChartFX in your clients machines, you

DO have to make sure that the CfxSrv.ini config file contains Codebase and

PluginVersion entries updated with the version of ChartFX that you want to

"push" to your clients machines.

Note that these entries are cached so if you manually modify this file you

will have restart IIS, as an alternate there is a method you can invoke

(LoadDefault) to force a reload of this file.

Have you checked the object tag generated by our server control ?

Are you using IE or Netscape ?
