User (Legacy) Posted October 10, 2001 Report Posted October 10, 2001 Hi All, Has anyone else ever seen this error message as the response to a call to objChart.GetHtmlTag? We have multiple clients using ChartFX IE 2000, generating literally millions of charts over the past twelve months, and I had never seen this error message before. Last night I was tinkering with one of our test servers, loading a bunch of data into SQL Server, and at the same time I pulled up our application to check the progress of the data load. Every chart in the application returned this error message. I started a new copy of IE, same thing. I let it sit over night and tried it again in the morning, same thing. I stopped and restarted IIS and the problem disappeared. Server = Win2k sp2 / IIS 5.0, all the latest patches. ChartFX patch level 4_5_21_3. Just wondering... Regards, -Frank. Software FX Posted October 11, 2001 Report Posted October 11, 2001 This error is generated when ChartFX does not know what is the relative path where charts should be generated (normally /CfxTemp). We have only detected that this buffer can be overwritten in certain scenarios where we are failing to detect an array index out to bounds. e.g. Creating a chart with 2 series and then customizing attributes for a 1000 different series. We have also seen this happen if you use any of the Multi properties before the data has been sent to the chart. -- Regards, JC "Frank Chance" <Frank.Chance@FabTime.com> wrote in message news:ucj#TCgUBHA.1392@webserver1.softwarefx.com... > Hi All, > Has anyone else ever seen this error message as the response to a call > to objChart.GetHtmlTag? > > We have multiple clients using ChartFX IE 2000, generating literally > millions of charts over the past twelve months, and I had never seen this > error message before.
