RE: Can not download chart data

ChartFX request the files to be downloaded to Explorer so any settings used in Explorer will affect how files are downloaded. Please check the HTML source that gets to the client.

You will typically see something like

<OBJECT ...>

<PARAM NAME="LICENSE" VALUE="/License/CfxIE.lic">

<PARAM NAME="DATAPATH" VALUE="/CfxTemp/XXXXXX.chw">

</OBJECT>

ChartFX will try to download the "/License/CfxIE.lic" and "/CfxTemp/XXXXXX.chw" URLs, it does so by requesting the files to IE so any network settings in IE will apply.

I connected to your viewchart.asp and I got the following

<OBJECT CLASSID="CLSID:21F49842-BFA9-11d2-A89C-00104B62BDDA"

TYPE="application/x-oleobject"

WIDTH="600" HEIGHT="380" ID="Chart1"

CODEBASE=/download/CfxIEAx.cab#Version=4,4,15,0

>

<PARAM NAME="LICENSE" VALUE="/license/CfxIE.lic">

<PARAM NAME="DATAPATH" VALUE="/cfxtemp/CFT0225_104126167.chw">

</OBJECT>

I then wrote the following URLs in my address bar

http://www.earthcareus.com/License/CfxIE.lic and I got the file

http://www.earthcareus.com/cfxtemp/CFT0225_104126167.chw and I got a 404 error.

Check the CfxTemp folder, can you see the CHW files there ?

Do you have a virtual directory called CfxTemp pointing to the CfxTemp folder ?

Is this the folder where you checked the NT permissions ?

Did you check the virtual directory settings ?

Ok, I created just a simple chart using the following code:

<% Set Chart1 = Server.CreateObject("ChartFX.WebServer") %>

<%= Chart1.GetHtmlTag(400,200,"Auto") %>

It works fine on the local network, but not from outside. One thing that

maybe I should mention is that I'm doing address translation via a proxy

server to specific web sites. Will ChartFX operate behind a proxy?
