STILL NEED to remove blank space between graph and its window

User (Legacy)

Recommended Posts

I would like to have my window completely filled with the graph.

Right now in your control I have:

(wasted blank space) (graph) (more useless blank space)

How do I remove the blank space so I have:

(graph)

.....in the window. (i.e. no wasted real estate)

I hope you don't give me the old "you need to buy the upgrade" again.

Here's hoping,

We answer this a few days ago, here is a copy:

Hello,

I am sorry but this feature has not been added to the lite version. If you

were to move to the full version of ChartFX.Net then you would be able to

set a property called "Volume" that would allow you to increase the size of

the bars so that no gaps appeared.

NO - that was a different question that you answered earlier. I asked

about space between the bars earlier, and that was your reply. Now I'm

asking about space between graph and its window - its a DIFFERENT QUESTION.

Could you please reread my request and make sure this is your answer

(again)??

I think you guys are *far* too eager to ask us to buy the upgrade. The

version you had on the website last Wednesday didn't install properly, so I

called to tell you to publish a new version. Instead, I am encouraged three

times on the phone to buy the upgrade. I asked a support question and was

told to post it here. So I posted it here waited an hour, and got "Buy the

upgrade". I asked another question, and this is your reply to it today.

Why don't you have a bot just autoreply this newsgroup with "its in the

upgrade. Please buy it"? It would save you the time of hitting Ctrl-C and

Ctrl-V. Perhaps you could even use that time to running the releases through

some kind of QA test?

Hi Bug:

The space you are referring to can't be deleted or altered. This space is

automatically calculated by Chart FX and it is there to assure that when

combining chart types in the same chart (Lines, Bar, Area) the chart ends up

displaying correctly. This behavior is experienced in both Chart FX Lite and

Chart FX for .NET (full version).

Chart FX Lite definitely lacks many of the interesting features Chart FX for

.NET offers and the only possible answer we have is to encourage people to

take a look at the full version.

Your first paragraph is a great response to Bug Slayer's question; however,

I don't particularly care for your second paragraph. It is obvious (from

your first paragraph) that upgrading to the full version would not solve the

problem currently being experienced by this user - so, tell me again why the

"only possible answer" is to encourage an upgrade to the full version?

Had this particular user paid the license fee only to find that the full

version didn't fix his problem (and that you knew that in advance!), you

would have had one very unhappy developer on your hands. I appreciate that

you are providing Chart FX Lite on a no-charge basis; it is good for the

developer and good for you. Please don't mess up this good thing with

inappropriate solicitations!

Thanks,

KLC

Hi Ken:

If you read the thread carefully, you will notice Bug Slayer presented 2

issues, one regarding the spacing (technical and addressed in the first

paragraph) and the second one regarding our representative's eagerness to

sell the Chart FX for .NET full version which I also attempted to clarify in

my response (thus the need for that second paragraph).

Furthermore, I would like to add that our support team has little sales

skills and therefore they are not trained nor encouraged to include sales

pitches when responding to user concerns in our newsgroups. I think this

fact is more than evident by just reading other posts and responses in our

newsgroups.

Nevertheless, in retrospect and by reading my response several times, I

agree that this wasn't very clear. I should've included a reference to the

Bug's issues I was addressing.

Best Regards
