Distribution problem : license

User (Legacy)

Recommended Posts

I get the following error when running an app that I've distributed.

System.ComponentModel.LicenseException: Couldn't get Run Time license for

'SoftwareFX.ChartFX.Lite.Chart'

I just downloaded and installed the latest version of ChartFX lite.

The (distributed) version of ChartFX.Lite.DLL is 6.0.768.31517

I've read earlier posts suggesting that a newer version or an IDE licx file

tweak will fix the problem. I've been unsuccesful with both.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Steve

Can you reproduce the problem if you create a brand new Windows Forms

Application and drop ChartFX.Lite ? If so, can you post the EXE to check if

the license was embedded into it.

Ok, I did build an installer for a very simple project that contained the

ChartFX control. It deployed successfully with its license.

I then completely recreated the install for my application, using the same

steps. I still got a license violation on the distribution of that code.

Can you tell me how to manually distribute the license?

Can you tell me how the dependency should be picked up by the Microsoft

deployment project?

Is the license it's own file, or is it embedded in another file such as

.resx?

Thanks,

Steve
