Need a US National Zipcode SVG Map for Maps Extension

We're currently working on new map collections, including 5-digit zip codes

for each individual US State. We haven't decided yet if a National 5-digit

zip codes map will provided, since the size of the SVG would be too big and

hence too slow to load. We will probably create a 2-digit or 3-digit

National zip code map.

The timeframe or cost for the new collections hasn't been defined yet. Keep

posted to our website for checking its availability.

  • 1 month later...

I spend hours scouring the net today to find something online. And i think i

found the right place

WorkingMaps.com has a good set of maps that they sell online.

They were able to send me an exact map that i needed. They also have SVG

formats

http://www.workingmaps.com/

Now...

Unfortunately i am trying to get one of the map that i bought from them to

work and i get an error when i bind that svg file to the chartfx map

extension that i just downloaded today.

Here is the error .

Invalid error

Prefixes beginning with "xml" (regardless of whether the characters are

uppercase, lowercase, or some combination thereof) are reserved for use by

XML.

I am sure that it is a minor issue which chartfx will be able to resolve, as

it appears that somehow the chartfx control does not like the SVG format

that i got.

I noticed that the svg file was created using Adobe illustrator ver 10.

So next i took the "IL Zips.svg" that was in the sample, opened it in

Illustrator 10 and then saved again in SVG file following the instruction

that in the chartfx help files. I got the same error.

It looks the chartfx does not read the svg file format created by

illustrator 10.

I am sure you guys will be able to resolve the problem.

I know i would buy it instantly, if i can get it working with the map sample

that I need.

There's a known issue with the SVG format saved by Illustrator 10, which

will be fixed in the next service pack. As a temporary workaround, you can

manually remove the offending lines from the resulting SVG. In the SVG

header you will see a few lines with the prefix xml: and a variable that is

later used in the SVG tag. Just remove such lines and your modified SVG will

work. You may want to compare the headers of one of the original SVG

provided with Chart FX Maps and the SVG saved by Illustrator 10.
