Lines disappearing in Step chart with XY values

I am creating a step chart with both X and Y values. In most cases, it works

fine, but if the view is zoomed in, the line for a series is not drawn if

there is no X value defined with the current view on the X axis. Is there

anyway to prevent this from happening, and to have the line appear, showing

the line between the two values that are currently outside the view?
