Space between series BARs

Hi!

I have a bar graph with 3 series per "x" step.

I have tried using the volume property to increase the space  between the

bars (i.e between each series bar).

But they always line up with no space.

It looks like this (where each I is a bar):

III      III      III      III

I want it to look like this:

I I I      I I I      I I I

Is there a way to accomplish this?

I thought of using empty series without labels, but it feels like an 

unnecessary complicated way.
