User (Legacy)
Justin, I think we have resolved the problem. The existing cab file in our ProgramFiles\CfxIE4\ActiveX directory appears to have been corrupted. In the image below you can see that it's file size is only 1KB. Your service pack installation routines apparently could not work around the bad files. To resolve this I copied the corresponding file from our wwwroot\download directory into the ProgramFiles\CfxIE4\ActiveX directory. This resolved the problem of the mysterious grayed-out boxes in your update tool. Service pack installations appear to run normally now (see picture below). So that is why (on our server) the client download got behind the server download (in version) when we ran the update process Wednesday evening. The server components got updated but the client stuff did not. As you know, this resulted in client machines attempting to get a new version of the activex controls, but never successful, since it just wasn't available on our server. And so the "No Data Available" message is delivered because your client software is backward compatible (client version must greater than or equal to server version). One suggestion: a better error message for this case. Thanks for your help on the phone yesterday. Also take a look at the .chw file that is prompted to get downloaded threw the HTML that is sent to the browser and make sure that this file is in fact being created inside of the physical cfxtemp directory located under the wwwRoot. Subject: Installing the Server Service Pack has Disabled our WEB SITE. We updated our installation with the Server Service Pack (using your install feature on your web site) yesterday and now we get the following behavior: For any ChartFX chart, the following text appears in the center of the charting area: Downloading License, Please wait Then No Data Available Repeating the chart request results in the same pattern. We have installed the Server Service Pack successfully before with no adverse consequences. Please help us resolve this problem. Jim Miller PNNL Below is a picture of the install result...
