Guest Ian Hughes
Hi, An application that has been running successfully for years using ChartFX has recently started showing the error to users when rendering a chart: "Couldn't get Run Time license for 'ChartFX.WinForms.Chart'" The application runs on a server controlled by our customer and is therefore not directly available to us. However, we have been able to view the hosted application and confirm it is occurring during normal use of the program. The ChartFX.WinForms dll file version is 7.0.4259.29043. The chart object is instantiated from an exe - I notice that your support staff have asked this before and once answered there seems to have been no further communication. It is very important that this is resolved, since a large customer of ours has paid us for software that has suddenly stopped working. I'd really like to get some understand of what this error means and why it has started happening. Regards
ianhughes81
Resolved: It turns out the user was renaming the .exe to match their naming conventions. Once reverted back to the compiled .exe name, the charts worked fine.
Guest Proper Packaging
it is one of the things that people should stay away from chartfx
