  1. This problem has never been resolved for us. We know the problem is data and height dependent because in our case we can change the height and we do not get an exception. I spoke to Francisco Padron the Software FX CTO about this problem about a year ago and he asked for more data to recreate the problem. I just had a similar problem again today and got the data captured so I could send the capture to SoftwareFX support. I have attached the captured data and chart settings for my crash in the DebugTrend_01132011_08-30-48-27565.zip file. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> You can capture your data and chart property settings by executing the following statement after the data and chart properties have been added but before any rendering or export. ChartCtrl.Export(ChartFX.WebForms.FileFormat.Binary, Path.Combine(HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath(@"./"), "Crash.bin")); You can verify you have captured data that will demonstrate the crash by executing this statement ChartCtrl.Import(FileFormat.Binary, Path.Combine(Server.MapPath(@".\"), "Crash.bin")); and then allowing the chart to render normally. I hope this helps. Dan
  2. We don't need to reinstall the product. This problem happens on 6 different servers and on my development machine. Did anyone there try running the project and following my instructions to duplicate the issue? Thank you.
  3. Our customers are seeing a crash with the .NET control when one of our charts is displayed in a browser window that is 800X600. I have been unable to duplicate their problem when the chart is first drawn but I was able to create a crash with the same stack trace. I attached a Visual Studio 2008 project that demonstrates this problem. After the chart draws the first time, resize the browser height so only 1 axis label displays. I usually have a crash with the stack trace below. Thank you for your help. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this 4. Have you tried this approach? It does not work at all. If the date format is set to AxisFormat.None then only numbers are displayed, not dates. Our customers are also complaining about the repeated dates. What is the real solution to the repeating dates? Does SoftwareFX have a solution? Thank you.
  5. Excellent. Thank you very much. These examples will really help us.
  6. Can we get the source code to your online AJAX ChartFX Samples at http://demo.softwarefx.com/chartfx/aspnet/ajaxsamples/ ? We are especially interested in the Realtime, Zoom Scrollbar, and Chart Tooltips but the rest of the examples would be extremely useful. I looked at all of the links on your website but I could not find any place where we could get the sample source code for all of the samples. I found a link to download sample code for the Zoom Scrollbar but it was not the updated version that is on your website. ChartFX is an excellent product but I sometimes have difficulty making it do what I want so examples are extremely useful. Thank you.
  7. Thank you Francisco. We really appreciate it. I will contact support for the service pack. You have a great product and it is very rare that we find issues like this one. Thank you for the excellent customer support.
  8. Francisco, Can someone look at this issue to see what we are doing wrong? We have a customer that really needs us to get this fixed. Is there something else I need to provide to you so you can duplicate this problem? Thank you.
  9. Francisco, We are getting overflow exceptions when rendering Pie Charts with the .NET Control. We don't always get the exceptions, it is just with certain data with certain controls on the screen. This is the stack trace. ************** Exception Text ************** System.OverflowException: Overflow error. at System.Drawing.Graphics.CheckErrorStatus(Int32 status) at System.Drawing.Graphics.DrawRectangle(Pen pen, Int32 x, Int32 y, Int32 width, Int32 height) at System.Drawing.Graphics.DrawRectangle(Pen pen, Rectangle rect) at ChartFX.NetIEClient.Internal.GraphicsEx.DrawRectangle(Pen pen, Rectangle r) at ChartFX.NetIEClient.h.a(DrawText A_0, String A_1, Point A_2) at ChartFX.NetIEClient.Galleries.Pie.a(Int32 A_0, PaintMarkBase A_1, Int32& A_2, Int32& A_3) at ChartFX.NetIEClient.h.r() at ChartFX.NetIEClient.h.a(IFrame A_0, Int32& A_1) at ChartFX.NetIEClient.Chart.a(PaintBar A_0, IGraphicsEx A_1) at ChartFX.NetIEClient.ao.a(PaintEventArgs A_0) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.PaintWithErrorHandling(PaintEventArgs e, Int16 layer, Boolean disposeEventArgs) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmPaint(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) I have attached a project that shows the problem. The data is in an XML file. When you run the application as-is, it will throw an OverflowException. If you change the StartAngle attribute value to 45 in the <chartfx7galleries:Pie> tag in the .aspx file then it will render okay. When you display the Toolbar and then click the 3D button, it will throw an exception. Different data will cause the exception at different start angles so I can
  10. Francisco, Thank you. I am now getting the Minimum and Maximum values on a postback after I set this property chart1.TemplateContents = chart1.TemplateContents | FileContents.Scale; Now I have another issue. If I set the Axis to perform auto scaling with the following code chart1.AxisY.Min = double.MinValue; // Is there another way to set the Min to
  11. We are using the .NET ChartFX control (Version 7.0.2893.24916 Dated 12/11/2007). If a user changes the Axis Minimum, Maximum, or Step settings from the Properties dialog on the Y Axis tab, these new values are not sent to the server during postback and they are not retained by the .NET control after the postback completes. Other changed settings like Text Color, Text Font, Decimals, Format, Logarithmic, Angle, Staggered, and etc. are sent to the server in a postback and are retained by the .NET control after the postback completes. Is this a bug in the ChartFX control or is there a setting to prevent the control from resetting the Minimum, Maximum, and Step during the postback. I have attached a Visual Studio 2005 project to demonstrate this issue. Run the web page, change the Axis Min, Max, and Step to something like 25, 60, and 5 by using the Y-Axis Properties in the Properties Dialog, click the button to perform a postback, and look at the settings by using the debugger. Thank you for your help.
  12. For some reason if I create the Chart like this Chart chart = new Chart(this);I get the "Input string was not in a correct format" exception thrown when I call the Import method. If I create the Chart like this Chart chart = new Chart();I can import the settings without any problem and the Chart renders to the page without any problem. Why would this make a difference when importing the settings? Apparently this is the problem I have been chasing since you pointed out my error with GetBuffer. Thank you. WindowsApplication1.zip
  13. Thank you Francisco. I copied the code you had exactly as you have it. If I put the Chart in the Default.aspx like this <chartfx7:Chart ID="chart" runat="server" Width="925" Height="600"></chartfx7:Chart> and do not add any data to it, the background setting of Red is successfully imported. If I create the Chart in code like this Chart chart = new Chart(this); and do not add any data or change anything else, I get the "Input string was not in a correct format" exception thrown. I am sorry I skipped these lines when I put the code in my original message. I put it in the project I had attached and I expected you to use it for testing. That is my fault. Do you know why this is happening? Thank you for your help.
  14. After I made this change I now get an "Input string was not in a correct format" exception thrown when I call the Import method. I am sorry I am having so much trouble with this but I have tried several approaches and none of them have worked yet. Thank you for all of your help.
