PointLabelMask & PointLabel in XY Chart problems

I have a scatter chart with a single series.

I am setting the point label for each of these point individually, using the

chart.Legend(icnt) = strDPName

 at the end, before generating the chart I have also added code:

Chart.PointLabels = True

Chart.PointLabelMask = "%l"

For some reason, instead of displaying the names I have assigned for each,

it is displaying the numeric value of the Y Axis..

The server is Windows 2000 with the latest chart fx service pack.

The client is IE 6.0

Any help will be appreciated!
