Need help with duplicating ChartFX.Net border on other controls.

Recommended Posts

Hi

The application we are building uses the ChartFX.Net component and a few other components we build in-house. The chart has a very cool stylish border around it. (See sample image below) We would like to create a similar border around other controls in our user interface so the UI looks more consistent. Is there a function in the ChartFX.NET library we can use to do this, or could someone give us a hint on how to duplicate this style?

Many thanks

How about some hints then on what steps we should take to mimic the same look/feel if we want a similar border around another control in our application? If we can't mimic the cool look/feel you folks have in your control we will just have to turn it off in ChartFX.Net. Then our software will look old and tired, but what can we do.

So, come on guys. You have this cool new part of our UI that makes your stuff look great. We want to use it to make our product look great too. To make things uniform across the UI we want similar looking borders around other controls.

No. Borders are to be used only for Chart FX charts, we do not provide these borders for any other control.

Thanks for the reply.

I understand the need to be careful with features that differentiate your product from the competition. Perhaps this border feature can be exposed as a part of your ChartFX.Net library so everyone can use it. Maybe more people will purchase your product then just to get the cool border feature! :-)

I'll see what we can do, but it turns out this is one of our competitive advantages and we don't want it to give away to our competitors, so it is a "delicate" issue around here.

We will included support for this in the next service pack (after 1004), a Draw method will be added to the Border objects to draw the border into a graphics.
