Q: A single bar is too wide...

Hi,

We are using Chart FX Client Server, the Cfx4032.dll (ver.

5.0) via #import in the application compiled by MS VC++ 6.

The question is related to 2D bar chart. We display results

of some analysis and sometimes it happens that there is only

a single value to be displayed. This leads to the situation

when the coloured bar for the point fills large part of the

window. The prefered situation would be to have a reasonably

wide bar (i.e. with limited width by some constant) and the

space around. What are the ways to achieve this behaviour?

Could you briefly outline the solution?

Note: The solution should work also when one switches to 3D

and/or when there is a bit more point and/or series that

would still produce too wide bars (i.e. visually large

blocks of colors).

Thanks for your time and experience,

Petr

The Volume property controls the percentage of the total space available for

a bar that is occupied by the bar itself. This is a percentage, not a fixed

pixel size. You will have to change the Volume based on the number of bars

and the space in the screen so that it is "reasonable" by your standards.
