Label Months On X Axis

I have daily data where I want to label on the X axis the Months.  It is

important

that the beginning of each month is on the first of that month, and the end

of that month

is on the appropriate date that is the end for that month.  In other words,

my "step" value

is not a constant.  And I want the label to be centered inside of the full

range of the month

... NOT centered based on where the tickmarks are.  If you can see a way to

do this

with annotations or extensions... then please let me know.
