User (Legacy)
I am using the trial version of Chartfx Map. To basically understand what it takes to make a Custom Map, I took the "IL Zips.svg" opened it up in Adobe Illustrator 10, made some slight changes in the Map and saved it again as an SVG ( "IL Zips2.svg" )by following the instruction that you have in the help file. When I try to bind the Chartfx map control i get the following an error. Invalid property value. Prefixes beginning with "xml" (regardless of whether the characters are uppercase, lowercase, or some combination thereof) are reserved for use by XML. What is wrong? I do not have Adobe Illustrator 9. (I hope ver 10. works?) charterror.bmp
User (Legacy)
Dear Mr. Bagdadi, This is a known issue with ChartFX Maps and the problem has been tackled already. It will be available in the next service pack! -Charles "Aasif Bagdadi" <aasifbagdadi@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:MR2vBhfyDHA.3512@WEBSERVER1... > I am using the trial version of Chartfx Map. > To basically understand what it takes to make a Custom Map, I took the "IL > Zips.svg" opened it up in Adobe Illustrator 10, made some slight changes in > the Map and saved it again as an SVG ( "IL Zips2.svg" )by following the > instruction that you have in the help file. > When I try to bind the Chartfx map control i get the following an error. > Invalid property value. > Prefixes beginning with "xml" (regardless of whether the characters are > uppercase, lowercase, or some combination thereof) are reserved for use by > XML. > > What is wrong? Software FX
As a temporary workaround, you can manually remove the offending lines from the resulting SVG. In the SVG header you will see a few lines with the prefix xml: and a variable that is later used in the SVG tag. Just remove such lines and your modified SVG will work. You may want to compare the headers of one of the original SVG provided with Chart FX Maps and the SVG saved by Illustrator 10. --- IG Software FX "Lago Board" <lagodelmarboard@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:x3xJ2qoyDHA.3072@WEBSERVER1... > Dear Mr. Bagdadi, > This is a known issue with ChartFX Maps and the problem has been tackled > already. > It will be available in the next service pack! > -Charles > > "Aasif Bagdadi" <aasifbagdadi@hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:MR2vBhfyDHA.3512@WEBSERVER1... > > I am using the trial version of Chartfx Map. > > To basically understand what it takes to make a Custom Map, I took the "IL > > Zips.svg" opened it up in Adobe Illustrator 10, made some slight changes > in > > the Map and saved it again as an SVG ( "IL Zips2.svg" )by following the > > instruction that you have in the help file. > > When I try to bind the Chartfx map control i get the following an error. > > Invalid property value. > > Prefixes beginning with "xml" (regardless of whether the characters are > > uppercase, lowercase, or some combination thereof) are reserved for use by > > XML. > > > > What is wrong?
