User (Legacy)
Hi support, I've read previous entries re this issue. One thing that I've having a problem with (due to my own ignorance) is that you guys suggested to deploy / register CfxIEAx.ocx in Windows\Dowloaded Program Files folder, even though it's not necessary. I tend to think that it better to have 'dowloaded' objects in same place so that they can be viewed from IE menu like all other components. What I need to know is to how do you copy files to Dowloaded Program Folders (so that you then can register them using Regsvr32 command). This folder doesn't give the option to paste things into it. I need to know this urgently so that I can document it for our clients. Thanks in advance Malcolm Rasool
Software FX
> how do you copy files to Dowloaded Program Folders We don't. IE does it for us. We simply include the files in the cabinet. Honestly I do not know how to do what you want to do. I do know that the Downloaded Program Files is just a folder. You can do "paste" in Windows explorer only because of the view. There is information in the registry on where that folder is, physically. I don't know the details though but Google/MSDN should help. -- FP Software FX
User (Legacy)
Sorry about not being clear in my first post. When I referred to the earlier entries in the news group I was mainly referring to the following post and response from the FX support person. From: "T Bygate" <Terry.Bygate@SynapseTechnology.Com> Subject: installing Chart Fx client manually: what files are installed & registry setting updated. Date: Tue, 29 Jul 2003 14:51:27 -0400 Anyway I was able to copy CfxIEAx.ocx into the window\downloaded program files folder by using DOS command. As for copy & paste function using normal win explorer is concerned, it doesn't work on this folder i.e. when you right click on it, it doesn't give you paste option. Cheers and thanks for your response.
