No drillthrough?

Recommended Posts

I may well be missing something but is it possible to allow drillthrough on

the reports as per the standard charts (and the Dundas chart for Reporting

Services). This is a key feature for us as we have a mix of interactive and

paper reporting type reports and allowing users to drilldown to the detail

is a must have feature.

Currently, we do not have Drill-Through and Drill-Down support.

We are working on a new version that includes, among other things support

for drill-down and drill-through. Please contact Software FX Support if you

want to participate in pre-release versions that include these features.

Can you please explain what exactly are you using Drill-Through for. What

kind of information do you need to pass back and fore. I want to make sure

your scenario is covered by the functionality that is being developed.

It's only really used to drilldown to more detail e.g. I have a stacked

column graph that shows a months worth of SQL waits by day. The user then

clicks on the column for an individual day and see's the waits for that day

broken down by hour. They then drillthrough again and see the waits by 5

minute intervals and finally they drillthrough again and see the individual

SQL sessions running at that time. It's basically just the standard "Jumpt

to report" functionality available in standard Reporting Services graphs. I

need to associate a drillthrough report with a series and pass parameters to

it (mainly the date/time). I tend to use the Reporting Services Web Viewer

control that comes with VS2005 and embed that in ASP.NET pages that are used

for exploring the data and to form dashboards.
