I tried to install it on VS2008 too. I am running Vista x64 bit platform and have been running into a problem when I reference and import the webform gauges. If you go to the install directory, you can find a bin directory. There you'll find the ChartFX.Webforms.Gauge.dll. If you go to your toolbox and right click on a tab, you can choose add items and point to the .dll file.
Please write back to let me know if you were successful. I keep getting an error... something about a void system.io.memorystream.close(); problem.
I confirmed that it installed fine for VS2005 on a Windows XP x86 machine.
