Hi Donald, When you use databases with SQL credentials (not Windows authentication), PowerGadgets supports several methods to store the credentials in the pgf file, allowing you to select your preferred method depending on the level of security you need to maintain in your organization. The methods currently supported are: 1. No confidential information is saved. When you run the gadget for the first time, the credentials are requested at runtime. 2. Credentials are saved as plain text: this option is probably the easiest during developmenand initial testing, but not recommended for production since it's not secure at all (anyone with access to the pgf file will be able to see the user and password) 3. Credentials are encrypted using the machine and user account. This option is less vulnerable than option 2 and easy to use for development, but can't be used for deploying your gadgets. This is what seems to be happening to you. 4. Credentials are encrypted using a digital signature, which must be deployed to the XenApp server. These options appear in the the second page of the data wizard, in the same page where you provide server and credentials. I recommend you modify the pgf file, choosing option 1 or 2, and then deploy again for test. --- IG Software FX

Chart FX 7 Web Forms is licensed on a per server basis, so a license is required per each server on which the software is installed. If you need to distribute Chart FX to a number of customers, along with your software, the best way to proceed is to sign an OEM agreement, which will provide you with ways to install Chart FX silently as part of your installation process. Visual Studio automatically takes the license information from the registry when building the app. The Chart FX license is unique for each computer and generated by our registration servers using specific machine information during the installation process. Currently, the only way to generate and store the license information in the registry is by running the installer. --- IG Software FX

Chart FX Developer Studio is a "development only" license, which does not allow redistribution (http://www.softwarefx.com/devStudio/). Being a development only license, it works perfectly on your development machine but when you run it outside of it, users will get the message stating that the license is not to be used for production. Can you please elaborate on the error you are getting? Is this different from what you were getting before? Were you able to open the Tool Pane wizard and click on the Choose the data source link? Please attach a screenshot of the problem you are experiencing. Also, please specify the browser version you are using.

We are currently working on native Oracle support, which will be available in our second service pack, probably next month. In the meantime, Oracle is supported though BDC, but that requires MOSS and customizing your BDC to use Oracle. --- IG Software FX

This feature has been included in our to do list for one of our upcoming service packs. We don't have a specific timeframe for when this will be implemented, but will very likely be included in our third service pack. Our first service pack, scheduled to release later this month, will include the new Map web part, localization support and a few bug fixes. Our second service pack, which our team is already working on, will include support of Oracle and OleDB data sources, connection to SharePoint lists inside different site collections and support for parameters when connecting to SharePoint lists (currently parameters are only supported when connecting to external databases). The content of our third service pack is still being discussed, but support for real time refresh is very likely to make it in that one. --- IG Software FX

Your request is very valid and an implementation request has been already posted to our engineering team. We expect to include the auto-refresh functionality in an upcoming service pack, although the specific timeframe is not available yet. I'd appreciate if you could give us feedback that will help shape a better implementation: 1. How often do you expect to refresh the data (every X seconds, minutes)? 2. Would you expect to have different refresh rates for different web parts within the same page? 3. Would you need to have any kind of visual indication of the timestamp the web part was auto-refreshed last? 4. What would you expect to happen if there is a problem connecting to the data source when a refresh occurs, for example if the database server fails to respond when an auto-refresh is requested? ----- IG Software FX

We gladly announce that DataParts has been released. Can you please elaborate on the type of programmatic settings you would like to apply? Do you want to specify the data source programmatically?
